Well Met
November 2025

Happy November, everyone, and welcome to issue no. 8 of Well Met. This month, our cover image is one from my own archives, of a passion flower that‘s somehow flowering and fruiting at the same time! Sadly the plant, which once sprawled along a garden fence not far from my home, was killed by a particularly sharp frost in 2022, but I have many photos of it, all treasured.

We are well into Autumn now, so it‘s fitting that this is one of our themes through the issue. There‘s also quite an animal emphasis too, as well as ekphrastic elements and two writings that‘ll whisk you away to the Mediterranean. From war to peace, from drinking to disappearing… the tiny team at Well Met hopes we‘ve put together something for all our readers to enjoy!

This month we‘re honoured to feature returning poets David, Gail, John, Mark, Martin, Melissa, Mike, Steven, Susan, and Word-Bird, alongside newcomers Andrew Frisardi, Janet Kenny, and Janice D. Soderling. Hooray! Thanks to you all.

And thanks for reading!
