Well Met
August 2025
‘George Swan’, by Graham Teague

Hello! And welcome to the fifth issue of Well Met, for August 2025.

I missed Pittville Park‘s George Swan from the previous front page, so here he is now as captured last month by my older brother. George seems to be considering the bank, perhaps because it‘s a lot drier than usual. Here in most of the UK we‘ve had a very sunny Summer so far, resulting in some sad dwindling of lawns, plants, general vegetation. Not such ‘nice weather for ducks‘, and maybe not for swans too!

This month we‘re honoured to feature the following poets:

Mike and Martin have provided notes to accompany their poems, while Gail, in the first part of a two-part collection of poems, has provided a lovely photo of her cats! Please note, the second part will be published in next month‘s issue. John and W.-B. have enjoyed brief discussions. And John and I discuss one of Emily Dickinson‘s most famous poems.

Thanks for reading!
