Well Met
October 2025
‘Male Peacock Spider’, by Jürgen Otto
Happy October, everyone, and spidery salutations! Here we are at issue no. 7 of Well Met, and as Halloween season is approaching it seems apt to pop a spider on our front cover. He is waving enthusiastically to you all!

As spooky season was fairly far off while we were putting this issue together, we didn‘t aim for an entirely Halloween-inspired issue. There are just a few frights to enjoy on the way through, from Mike, Martin, and Word-Bird. If you find your appetite for aaarrrgh! has been whetted, you could certainly head to The HyperTexts, where Editor Mike Burch has included a very cool collection of Halloween poems in the October issue! The little peacock spider turns up there too. And a Halloween issue of New Verse Review is also well on the way.

This month we‘re honoured to feature returning poets Melissa, Mike, Martin, John, Susan, Gail, and Word-Bird, alongside newcomers Steven Kent and the excellent Pulsebeat‘s editor David Stephenson. Thanks to you all!
